Steffin Hill Extension

During my childhood, the longest our family ever lived in one place was from 1957 to 1967 when we lived on Steffin Hill Extension. The house had a large lot and a lovely view of the western Pennsylvania hills. It was while living there that I began writing letters. In this blog I continue the tradition, with irregular updates on my life and times.

The day's just perfect, and that's the beauty of Calgary's short summer. Someone said, in effect, you get about a month of what they'd call, other places, real summer. But, it seems to me, that those 30 or so days are just...absolutely...stunning. No humidity, sunshine all the way (with the odd cloud or shower), clear, clean air that some days reminds you of being in the mountains. So you enjoy it while it's here. You soak it up, revel in it, open your heart and mind, and give thanks to the Creator. For tomorrow you freeze.

Not quite true. It just turns to fall--a beautiful fall, except only in the color yellow--early.

Well, this being the Heritage Day long weekend in Alberta, we've got places to go, things to do. Bye bye.
