Steffin Hill Extension

During my childhood, the longest our family ever lived in one place was from 1957 to 1967 when we lived on Steffin Hill Extension. The house had a large lot and a lovely view of the western Pennsylvania hills. It was while living there that I began writing letters. In this blog I continue the tradition, with irregular updates on my life and times.

Ah, the long weekend, this being July 1, or Canada Day. Yesterday was unusual in that they had asked me to work on a Saturday, so this "long" weekend, for me, actually has been pared down to two days off. But I'll take 'em.

Yesterday was unusual as well in that I saw my cousin Louise together with her singing cohorts from Geneva College, New Song. They were performing at a little church in North Toronto. Louise had let me know in advance, so Charity and I were able to whisk up the Don Valley Parkway in record time and walk in the door just on time.

The group, New Song, consists of five guys and four girls that sing a capella and perform skits (not bad actually). One of the members, I took note, is a business major, so afterwards Charity and I chatted with him about our son Jeremy having graduated from Geneva in business, and so forth. Cool.

Today (now that we own a car again!) we may do a little outing and drive out of the city to places where cows are eating grass and birdies are singing tweet tweet tweet.(Yes, birdies sing in Toronto too, but after they fill their tiny lungs with pollutants they sound just a little out of tune, I think.)

Whee!
