Steffin Hill Extension

During my childhood, the longest our family ever lived in one place was from 1957 to 1967 when we lived on Steffin Hill Extension. The house had a large lot and a lovely view of the western Pennsylvania hills. It was while living there that I began writing letters. In this blog I continue the tradition, with irregular updates on my life and times.

BANG!! CAPOOEY!! Outside they're starting to celebrate Victoria Day early, firing off fireworks. Here in Canada we have two opportunities to light fuses and blow things up--Victoria Day and Canada Day (July 1)--by the way.

This evening I've been responding to an argument that's been going on about atheism and morality in Canada's National Post. The one who started it was John Moore, a radio talk show host in Toronto and an agnostic who argued that using pure reason is a better way to come up with a code of morality than is the Bible.
