Steffin Hill Extension

During my childhood, the longest our family ever lived in one place was from 1957 to 1967 when we lived on Steffin Hill Extension. The house had a large lot and a lovely view of the western Pennsylvania hills. It was while living there that I began writing letters. In this blog I continue the tradition, with irregular updates on my life and times.

Yes, it has been a long, long while since I posted here. The reason is twofold. First, I was taking that writing course and as a result, as time went on, I found that every ounce of my writing mojo was drained by it.

Secondly, I have suffered, in particular, "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" (to quote Shakespeare!). I emphasize that source because, although I majored in English lit all those decades ago, I've never been able, particularly, to get into Shakespeare. I always found it annoying to have to be referring to the margin to see what in the heck the speaker was saying. (I will say, however, that there is one Shakespeare movie, directed and acted in by Richard Braneagh (sp?) called, I think, Henry IV. That was a cool movie. Somehow I could follow the gist of what was going on and there was lots of action and killing and the beautfiul words just seemed to add to the enjoyment. At the end all these soldiers are singing some latin mass on te battlefield as they surveying the killing...(Really gorgeous--the music, I mean.)

I have to run!
