1 Peter 5:7 (Amplified Bible):
"Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully."
Had to share that verse. I just found in a biblegateway.com search, looking first for "casting all you cares upon him, for he careth for you" in the old KJV.
I love the all-inclusiveness and kindliness of it in the Amplified. Feels to me like another "pillow" to lie down on when feeling beaten up by life. Ah, yes. I can take the whole tangled, confused, perplexing, impossible mess of my troubles, and I can pitch them over to God to take care of. He's actually got it all under control-- taking care of my business a trillion times trillion (and then some) better than I ever could.
No no, this doesn't mean I become passive. Been there, done that. But having done what Ican do, this verse seems to imply, "Fugghedaboudit. Believe that God is on task, working away, and keeping tabs of your little worries--all the while using his infinite power, love, and wisdom."
Ah, yes, and...thank you.
(Sorry: I'm forever breaking into sermons. But at least, generally, they're aimed at myself.)
