Rain, rain, rain. Cold, gentle rain. Did I say Calgary is sunny? Well it is, but not necessarily in the spring. It's gone on for about three days now (except most of yesterday) and is to continue this weekend. Calgarians say this is more than usual at a stretch. Ah well. If we get cabin fever we'll drive to nearby Sunridge Mall and stroll around. (I'd thought the mall was new but in fact it was built in '81 and recently renovated.)
I'm tired. This week I filled in for a guy on vacation and did a split shift, 7-10, 2-6. I imagined it would be fun. Book in hand (and with my monthly pass) I would ride the train to work, come home to take a nap, then ride back. Well it was fun the first day. Then the rain came. Among other things the job involves long walks to jockey cars and massive pick-ups. In the rain, that stinks! In addition I had to get up extremely early to catch the right bus. (Calgary Transit, as I've mentioned, isn't always convenient.) Bottom line: by yesterday I was fried and could tell I would need the weekend to recuperate.
A benefit of the rain is that I'll feel no obligation to cut grass or dig dandelions!
