Steffin Hill Extension

During my childhood, the longest our family ever lived in one place was from 1957 to 1967 when we lived on Steffin Hill Extension. The house had a large lot and a lovely view of the western Pennsylvania hills. It was while living there that I began writing letters. In this blog I continue the tradition, with irregular updates on my life and times.

So I did arise today, went forth, and got myself a part-time job. I'll be driving shuttle for a downtown dealership from two to six every afternoon. That's 20 hours a week. They pay very well and the people seemed nice.

The reason for this is to start supplementing the writing income. It's been right to devote myself full-time to writing as well as getting our lives organized, but it's time now to make some additional do-re-mi. I'll still have time to write for the magazine as well as, hopefully, other publications. And meanwhile in my new job I'll be meeting a wide range of Calgarians, most of whom work in the downtown core. Should be educational.

Actually the job is perfect. I'll be able to ride Calgary's Light Rail Transit downtown every day, leaving the car for my beloved. And because of the hours, I'll be home and writing when my creativity bulb burns brightest, i.e., in the morning.

So once again there's a sense that we're Being Looked After.

All for now, folks.
