So it was a good meeting. Got the low down on my writing: what they liked, what needed improvement, etc.
Funny thing was, I really didn't mind the criticism. Does this mean I'm growing up--or what? I mean, historically, I have been thin-skinned, touchy if you will (as are many writers, by the way) about my work, but something has changed. I'm now looking on such critiques in a positive light. It is a learning experience--and besides, they did accept my work, will pay me for it, and want me to do more!
There's a book I've been dipping into of the self-help variety called The Success Principles by Jack Canfield. I used to be rather hostile to all books of that genre (you know, Norman Vincent Peale, Tony Robbins, etc.) but now see things differently. Yes. What happened was I was in the midst of writing the blog and had to leave in a hurry so I quickly punched what I thought was "draft" to finish it later. I'd posted it! So I'll have to start over again in the next post.
