Steffin Hill Extension

During my childhood, the longest our family ever lived in one place was from 1957 to 1967 when we lived on Steffin Hill Extension. The house had a large lot and a lovely view of the western Pennsylvania hills. It was while living there that I began writing letters. In this blog I continue the tradition, with irregular updates on my life and times.

We don't have too many Christmas customs but one, at least, is going to a special Christmas dinner hosted by Jim and Dorothy, friends of ours that we've known for 30 years.

This year they had some important news: Susan, their middle daughter, has met a guy (through a Christian website) and is getting married next spring.

He's from Boise, Idaho and has a job which involves going around to the homes of wealthy people, arranging to have electronic gadgets installed. (I think he turns them into "smart" homes, among other things.)

Anyhow, one day Susan's fiance (sorry, I don't know his name, so I'll just call him Joe) was sent to a home where he was greeted by a lovely woman. She invited him in and told him that her husband was in the basement.

When Joe met the fellow he thought, "Hmmmm, he certainly looks familiar," but couldn't place him.

"Hello, my name's Joe," he said.

"Hello, my name's Val Kilmer," said the husband.

Interesting, eh? Maybe he finds there are fewer hassles living in Boise than there are in Beverley Hills.

Or maybe that's just one of sixteen homes he has around the world...

Wow, cool job the guy has!

My brother and Uncle actually considered doing that for a while. My Uncle's got some technical know-how and my bro's got the experience and hands on abilities. Guess they should have moved forward with it. Oh well.

Val Kilmer. He was a good Bruce Wayne, okay Batman. Says 'circus' kinda funny, but whatever. :-)

Glad you guys had a good time! We're looking forward to you both comin' down here! See you soon!
